Hands down, Apple's app store wins by a mile. It's a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I'm not sure I'd want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case. Have you tried the ipad?

Yea, that would be awesome for Android users. I am hoping they do it ASAP. I think that the RedFly is a GREAT solution for smarphone devices and if you have a PC or MAC that you can remote into, it totaly relieves the need for a netbook!

Thanks for your quick reply, I already thought I missed some news about the redfly being compatible with android. Right now I'm using a HTC hero, but i've been a palm user for a long time. I have a redfly (first model) but now I can't use it and it is catching dust.

I have contacted Celiocorp about future Android support and they promised they were working don it. There is still hope for us.

No this is not available to my knowledge. I was under the impression Mickey was talking about "Must have" apps as in an app that should be available on the platform. I definitely think that RedFly should be making their equipment and software for BB as well as Android, but to my knowledge only BB has currently been implemented.

Are you considering a RedFly or Android platform?

False advertising is just all to common and consumers need to play a more active role with their own purchase decisions instead of being lead by the nose. The amount of times I have had to correct someone about a fallacy with mobile tech makes me wonder how many people see a commercial and just believe it without question.

Great show guys, I enjoyed it. Look forward to more. Some great points were brought up. If you're ever looking for someone else to come on speak regarding WinMo or the "other phone", LOL please let me know. I am certainly on the fence, I've used Winmo for years, and switched to an old Iphone unlocked and Jailbroken on Tmo, and I am being tempted back with TP2. There is plusses and minuses to both platforms. Are there any plans to get this podcast into Itunes? Definitely would be a great addition to my podcast list.

Alex,

I am glad you mentioned those points, as I did not get to it in the article. Bringing up contrary points does not qualify as being an @$$. It's all good as long as you don't start with the flaming and baiting.

Firstly, I agree with you on the FF of the Traveler 137, they do make the same FF cam for the unlocked 3G phones for AT&T as well as apparently the 137 for T-Mo. So, by itself this is not conclusive evidence that T-Mo will be getting the service. In addition, keep in mind that I did mention in the article the feasibility that this may not actually happen. I never contended that it will happen for certain as I have not come upon enough reliable evidence to conclude that notion with certainty.

As you also pointed out, the fact that the T-Mo device appears to have one, is where the interest lies. It is possible that it will not be for the video calling even if it does come with the camera when it gets here. It may be for some video teleconferencing app.

As far as why AT&T is not doing the video calling already...they are. It is just their version of it, and it is called Video Share service which allows you to use the back camera for the same thing. T-Mobile needs to put out something along those lines to catch up, this may be exactly what the Dr. ordered.

Pharos has the FF camera in it because it is not designed just for the Tmobile USA and if you look at the specs it does support almost all the Euro 3G band. They are already selling it unlocked so it makes sense for them to add that FF because its established in Europe already and the consumers from there can buy the phone and use that feature and for US customers its just another cam in their phone which makes it convenient to take own picture.
Not being and @$$ but why didn't you think that AT&T would launch that when almost all of the Nokia and SE models from Europe started to sell here in US with the AT&T 3G band support, pretty much they all have the FF camera on them right?
Well i do get it that you are pointing at the TP2 that will be subsidized and launched by T-Mobile here which does make us curious why the second cam in it but I still think this is not happening.

That is true too, but as a mfr. why would Pharos be putting the FF cam on with their current device offering (Traveler 137) which should be out by June 19th?

Incidently, it is confirmed, from Pharos' website specs, that their Traveler 137 has a FF cam.

I don't see that happening. There's not that high of demand for it here like there is overseas. It would be something good to have, but I don't see it happening for atleast another year.

That is a good point, and I did think about that as many have stated they suspect it would be a light sensor too. However, that is why I compared it to the TP2 pics of the model released in UK, for which that particular space is being used exclusively for the FF camera not sensors.

Now that you know why I do not think it is a light sensor, can you tell me what leads you to believe it is?

This a great reason to limit campaign spending and have it pubicly funded only. It seems like the only way to keep the blatant favoritism down to a quite roar.

I think that the level of transparency for any expenditures that involve campaign funds would definitely have to be addressed for anything to be effective.

The real problem is when a presidental candidate is expected to have raised at least $100 million a year and a half before the election to be considered. How do you take anyone or any organization at their word at that level of spending. Will they really do a good job spending our tax money? The amazing part is we put up with this behavior from our officials.

I think that both of you have made excellent points. I agree that ads should be banned. I also agree that the logistics of "becoming a household name" require some kind of mass media exposure in order to be effective.

Might make it overly hard for candidates that are not part of an organization to get their name and message out. Without organized support even candidates with lots of money would have a hard time becoming a house hold name.

Make mass media ads illegal for campaigning. Candidates should travel from city to city, campaigning face to face with citizens and be available for questioning by voters. Like the good ole' days.
